Services and Rates


Animal stars offers a variety of training services to suit everyone – from those needing their dog’s problems understood and solved, basic obedience training to Star (trick) Training.

Private Lessons

Private lessons include one-on-one training with Sue Thompson so you receive the most information and training she can impart.  These run for one hour per session in our indoor training area.  Owners usually attend once a week – some have enough lessons to fix the problems they presented with or to train all basic obedience, and others continue on to Star Training.

Call us to make an appointment.  Cost $50 per hour

Board & Train

Have your dog trained at Animal Stars with a 10 day training course.  Your dog will receive 2 to 3 training sessions per day which includes meals and board.  We have professional yet homely farm-stay facilities with limited numbers, so your dog receives specialist treatment. 

On completing the course, you will receive an extended 1.5 hour lesson to show you how to cue and manage your newly trained dog, as well as a written report.   Your dog will also have been on outings to test his training when faced with environmental distractions. All dogs go home washed and groomed.

Every dog and family is different, so results can be different with each dog, but all dogs leave us with a good knowledge of all basic obedience requirements and often more.  Training is specific to the individual needs of you and your dog.

A discount is offered if you have more than one dog.  Cost $65 per day
